Jobang Nakji 1-beonga on the 10th floor has been serving customers with consistent dedication for about 14 years since 2012. It is a famous Nakgopsae specialty eatery. Being situated inside Lotte Department Store Gwangbok branch makes it an ideal spot to stop by during shopping trips, dates, or family outings.

Upon entering, the interior felt well-maintained, spacious, and extremely comfortable. We booked our table for weekday lunch at 12:00 PM using Naver Reservation.

The dining area mainly features 4-person tables, with 6-person tables set up on one side, making it a convenient venue for family gatherings or group dining.

Octopus is known as a low-calorie stamina food that helps manage cholesterol levels and prevent anemia. It is rich in protein, vitamin B2, phosphorus, iron, and various minerals, making it a healthy choice for any meal.

Here is a full shot of our lunch spread!

The side dish selection includes fresh chives, lotus root, and steamed egg (gyeryan-jjim), all featuring subtle flavors that pair perfectly with the main dish.

You also get young summer radish kimchi (yeolmu kimchi), bean sprouts, and a bowl of chilled dongchimi (radish water kimchi) soup.

Cooking and Tasting the Signature Nakgopsae

The 2-person portion of Nakgopsae stir-fry arrived topped with octopus, shrimp, beef intestines (gopchang), fresh vegetables, and glass noodles. A staff member turned on the heat and cooked everything right at our table, allowing us to sit back and enjoy the meal comfortably.

The restaurant prepares fresh octopus daily and uses high-quality Hanwoo beef intestines and fresh shrimp. The ingredients looked remarkably fresh right from the start. The staff member repeatedly checked on our pan, stirring the sauce properly to ensure nothing stuck to the bottom.

Since the beef intestines take a bit longer to cook thoroughly, the staff let the pan simmer on low heat for a few extra minutes while we waited eagerly.

Finally, our delicious Nakgopsae was ready to eat!

We used a large ladle to scoop a generous portion over our bowl of rice, then neatly garnished it with chives, seaweed flakes, and crisp bean sprouts.

The vibrant colors and savory, nutty aroma made it look incredibly appetizing before the first bite.

I took the first bite with a piece of gopchang. Jobang Nakji 1-beonga uses a custom homemade sauce aged for over a month, giving it a deep, rich umami flavor that really sets it apart. The sauce has just the right amount of spiciness, blending harmoniously with the richness of the intestines and the crisp texture of the chives.

The octopus and shrimp were tender and plump with a wonderful chew. It truly showcased the authentic taste of Busan Nakgopsae and explained how this shop has maintained its place at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok branch for 14 years. If you are searching for a great lunch spot near Central Busan or Nampo Station, I highly recommend visiting Jobang Nakji 1-beonga.

Throughout the meal, the attentive staff checked if the food suited our taste and if we needed any refills. They were exceptionally friendly! We refilled the steamed egg twice and even ordered an extra bowl of rice to finish off a very satisfying lunch. Although I usually come to this building just to watch movies at Lotte Cinema, I am glad I discovered this local gem on the 10th floor.
