Gimhae Airport to Busan: Light Rail and Airport Bus Guide

  • by

To get from Gimhae Airport to Busan by public transport, choose your hotel area first. For rail, take the airport light rail to Sasang and transfer to Metro Line 2 for Seomyeon or Haeundae. For Nampo, change again at Seomyeon to Line 1. Airport limousine buses are another option for Seomyeon/Bujeon and Haeundae/Gijang; compare their actual stops with your hotel entrance before choosing. [1] [2] [3]

Compare your options
Option Suitable for Trade-off
Seomyeon [1] [2] Airport LRT → Sasang → Line 2 One rail transfer.
Haeundae [1] [2] Airport LRT → Sasang → Line 2 One rail transfer; check your hotel location.
Nampo [1] [2] Airport LRT → Sasang → Seomyeon → Line 1 Two rail transfers.

Light rail and subway or airport bus: which should you choose?

Choose the rail route when its listed transfers and your final station suit the trip. Compare an airport bus when a named stop is convenient for your accommodation and you prefer to avoid those rail changes. Neither option is automatically best: check the complete station-to-door or stop-to-door journey, then the current service for your arrival time. [1] [2] [3]

Start with the airport light rail

The official network map places Gimhae International Airport on the light-rail line. Follow the current airport signs for that service and board in the direction of Sasang. At Sasang, follow the Metro Line 2 transfer signs. The airport also lists a Line 3 interchange at Daejeo, but the three routes in this guide use Sasang. [1] [2]

From Sasang to Seomyeon or Nampo

For Seomyeon, stay on Line 2 after the Sasang transfer and get off at Seomyeon. For Nampo, change at Seomyeon to Line 1 and continue to Nampo. If your accommodation gives Jagalchi as its nearest station, use that address-specific instruction; Jagalchi is also on Line 1. [2]

Keep the final station-to-hotel leg in your plan. These routes count line changes, not the walking distance through stations, lift availability or the time from a particular terminal exit. Check the current station information and accommodation directions if you need step-free access. [1] [2]

From Sasang to Haeundae

For Haeundae Station, transfer to Line 2 at Sasang and continue on that line. A property using Haeundae in its name may give a different nearest station, so match the map to its actual address before choosing where to get off. The beach photograph is an archival destination view, not a picture of the airport route. [2]

When to compare the airport limousine bus

The airport currently lists a Seomyeon/Bujeon limousine service at KRW 6,000 and a Haeundae/Gijang service at KRW 9,500, both credit card only. It lists platform 3 on the first floor of both terminals as their boarding point. These details were checked on 18 October 2026; confirm the current fare, stop and accepted payment before travelling. [3]

The Seomyeon service lists a stop at Seomyeon Station by Lotte Hotel/Department Store. The Haeundae route lists stops including Dongbaekseom Entrance and Haeundae Beach. Compare the named stop with your accommodation: a convenient stop could make a bus worth considering when you prefer fewer rail transfers. [3]

Check the departure for your arrival terminal and date rather than assuming a bus will be waiting. The airport says schedules and fares may change, and some Haeundae/Gijang departures do not continue to Gijang. Do not infer a direct Nampo service from these two route names. [3]

Before you commit to the transfer

Save your accommodation address and the complete connection before you fly. For a late arrival, check every leg after the flight, baggage collection and transfer walk; flight landing time alone does not confirm a connection. We have not verified a current light-rail fare or last-train time, so neither is quoted here. [1] [2]
