Songdo Cable Car Tickets: Air Cruise vs Crystal Cruise

Planning to ride today? The operator’s FAQ says its online tickets can be used from the day after purchase, not on the purchase day. Check validity before paying, then choose your cabin and return plan. The same FAQ says you can buy tickets on site without an online reservation. [2]

Our starting suggestion is Air Cruise for a closed-floor ride, or Crystal Cruise if viewing through a transparent floor is part of the experience you want. Choose a return ticket if your plan is to come back by cable car; buy one way only after deciding your onward route. [1] [5]

The comparison below covers ordinary adult tickets, not private-cabin or priority products. Facts were checked on October 22, 2026. We have not made a booking or personally tested either cabin; the photographs are archival Songdo destination views. [1] [3]

Option Suitable for Trade-off
Air: adult return ₩19,000 [1] [3] Closed floor; returning by cable car Get off and reboard for the return.
Crystal: adult return ₩24,000 [1] [3] Transparent floor; returning by cable car The floor upgrade is not a private-cabin ticket.
Air: adult one way ₩15,000 [1] [5] Closed floor; onward journey planned Arrange your next leg separately.
Crystal: adult one way ₩19,000 [1] [5] Transparent floor; onward journey planned Do not assume a return ride is included.

Air or Crystal? Decide whether you want the transparent floor

Air Cruise has a closed floor; Crystal Cruise has a transparent floor. For ordinary adult return tickets, the listed difference is ₩5,000 per person. That is our calculation from the direct fare table, not a discount offer. The adult category starts at age 13. [1]

If a downward view matters to you, investigate Crystal. If it does not, our lower-cost starting choice is Air. This is a preference-based recommendation, not a judgement that either option is universally better. A transparent-floor ticket does not by itself buy an exclusive cabin: the operating rules allow shared boarding. [1] [3]

One way or return? Plan where the ride leaves you

The route crosses between Songlim Park on the east side of Songdo Beach and Amnam Park on the west. A one-way ride changes where your next journey starts. Decide which side you want to finish on and check that route before choosing the cheaper-looking ticket. [5]

For a visit that starts and ends on the same side by cable car, our suggested default is a return ticket. You still have to get off and reboard. Do not interpret “return” as remaining in the cabin for an uninterrupted loop, or as a reservation for the next departure. [3]

A one-way ticket can suit a deliberate onward plan. Compare your next leg and its cost before paying; this guide does not establish a walking route or current bus connection from the far station. The 2010 photograph shows the beach historically, before today’s service. [5] [6]

Buying online for today? Read the validity rule first

The official FAQ describes online tickets as usable from the next day and says same-day purchase-and-use is not allowed. For a spontaneous visit today, investigate the on-site ticket option and current operation. This is the operator’s stated online-purchase rule; another seller’s product must be checked on its own terms. [2]

Before buying, inspect the selected date, validity period, cabin type and ride direction. The operator directs online purchase and refund enquiries to the purchase channel. We have not verified a percentage-based cancellation schedule for every seller, so no universal refund promise is given here. [2]

Ordinary tickets should not be treated as priority boarding. The use rules say cabins hold up to eight and may be shared. If you want an exclusive or priority product, read that product’s terms instead of assuming the floor upgrade includes it. [3]

How much time should you leave?

The FAQ estimates about 15–20 minutes of round-trip riding and about 60–90 minutes for a visit that also uses the surrounding facilities. These are operator estimates, not measured queue times or a guaranteed door-to-door schedule. Leave additional room for the journey to the station and your own boarding conditions. [2]

Our suggestion is to avoid placing a second paid appointment immediately after the shortest riding estimate. Decide which side you finish on, check the return arrangements and keep your next stop flexible if the visit is the main outing. [5] [3]

Seasonal hours and the last ticket are different

Published operating hours are 09:00–20:00 in December–February, 09:00–21:00 in March–June and September–November, and 09:00–22:00 in July–August. The operator states that ticket sales close 30 minutes before operation ends. Treat the sales cutoff separately from the service closing time. [4]

Hours may change with bad weather or unavoidable circumstances. Recheck the official notice and operation before making the journey, especially for a late visit. A status banner cached at an earlier time is not a guarantee that service will be operating when you arrive. [4]

Getting to Songdo Bay Station

The operator gives Songdo Bay Station at 171 Songdohaebyeon-ro and lists public-transport examples involving a bus connection from Nampo or Jagalchi. Use the station name and current map directions from your own starting point; no exact cross-city travel time is established here. [6]

For a Nampo-based day, compare the station journey with the rest of your plans before adding a time-sensitive ticket. If you are staying elsewhere, start from the accommodation rather than assuming all coastal attractions are close together. The second 2010 beach view is historical context, not a present station photograph. [6]

If your boarding depends on a wheelchair, stroller or particular equipment, ask the operator for the requirements that apply to that item before travelling. This guide does not certify accessibility or participation suitability. [3]

A short checklist before payment

Choose the floor you want, check whether the ticket is one way or return, and confirm the correct passenger category. Then check the validity date and the purchase channel’s cancellation terms. Keep the ticket available for boarding and the return. [1] [2]

Finally, note your station, current operating arrangements, planned finish point and onward journey. Save this checklist for checkout rather than relying on an old photograph, a generic “from” price or the word “Crystal” alone. [6] [4] [5]
