Located along the scenic shores of Hwajinpo Lake, the Villa of Lee Ki-poong (이기붕별장) provides international visitors with a fascinated window into modern Korean history.
History of the Villa of Lee Ki-poong
The residence was originally built in the 1920s by foreign missionaries. Before the Korean War broke out, it was used as a vacation villa by North Korean communist party executives.

After the cease-fire agreement, it was turned into a private residence by Lee Ki-poong—the Vice-president to President Rhee Syngman—and his wife Maria Park. The building sits in an area steeped in history, situated directly between the villas of Rhee Syngman and Kim Ilsung.
